Order of Elections: Northern Senators sack Senator Abdulahi
Northern Senators Forum on Tuesday removed Senator Abdullahai Adamu as its chairman, replacing him with Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
Deputy President of the Senate Ike Ekweremadu who presided over plenary announced the change of guard from Adamu to Wammakko.
Speaking later with Journalists, Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central said Adamu was removed over alleged financial mismanagement of N70 million.
The money was said to belong to the Northern Senators’ Forum handed down by Northern senators in the 7th Senate to those in the 8th Senate and left in the custody of Abdullahai Adamu when he emerged as Chairman.
The lawmaker told journalists that when asked to account for the money, the former Governor of Nasarawa State said “monkeys raided his farm house and made away with the it.
Adamu has been critical of some senate actions especially the reordering of election sequence he and 7 other lawmakers believe was targeted at President Mohammadu Buhari.
Adamu’s sack as Chairman, Northern Senators Forum comes barely few hours after his colleague Movie Omo Agege apologized to the Senate over his statement that Senate decision to re- order elections was targeted at President Mohammadu Buhari.
